Every year, the first Friday of June is celebrated as National Donut Day in the United States. Like every year, this year also saw no departure from the yearly norm. Customers were seen being very excited about one of their favorite days in the year, when they are handed out one of their favorite sweet accompaniments, donut, at various offers.
#Socialmedia witnessed around 24K volumes of conversations, with twitter emerging as the leader, showcasing the largest chunk of social chatter among other social media channels. Conversations peaked on June 6, 2019, which was a day before #Donut #Day.
The bigger industry players like #Dunkin’, #KrispyKreme and few others showered their customers with #offers and #giveaways. Dunkin’ came up with contests, asking their customers, which donut will they choose as a freebie for any juice purchased in the store. Most of the customers were seen voting for #glazed donut. Krispy Kreme launched an interaction with their customers through an online contest, hurling questions, such as, the favorite way to spend #donutday. The most #popular answer to that unanimously came out to be, having an option to eat free donuts at Krispy Kreme. Entenmann’s also came up with an innovative theme called #fan #flavor #challenge to attract their customers.
Few celebrity influencers and gastronomes like @Shaq also posted about the popular donut day offers on behalf of the brands. Foodies took to social media to talk about various offers among their circles. They used hashtags like #Nationaldonutday, #NationalDoughnutday, #Donut etc.
Having free exotic donuts from popular brands clearly was one of the most exciting draws for people around the National Donut Day. Most of the brands were successful in attracting their customers with their innovative marketing ideas.
